Tap dance concentrates on developing the intricate patterns and rhythms of tap. Our Tap Technique Classes consists of warm-up, center work, and across the floor training. Proper terminology and musicality is stressed. Students will learn a variety of Tap styles from Classic Tap to Broadway to Rhythm Tap. Exercises will focus on building flexibility of the knees and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper Tap technique, producing clear sounds, and having fun.
Class Dress Requirements: Female students should wear leotard and convertible tights or leggings of any color. Dance shorts are allowed as well. Hair must be pulled away from the face in a Ponytail or Braid. No t-shirts/tanks for female students. Absolutely no crop tops or sports bras. Male students should wear a fitted t-shirt or tank and dance pants or shorts. Specific Shoe requirements can be found in the online registration portal.
Performance Requirements: Students will be required to purchase a costume for our Showcase production. All students will participate in the Showcase finale as well. Costume fees are due no later than October 15, 2021. Costume fee information can be found in the online registration portal. Additional performance opportunities could be available throughout the season.
Showcase Fee: 3D Centre of the Arts, LLC will present its annual Showcase in May/June 2022. This showcase will offer all of our 3DCA students the opportunity to perform in a professionally directed production and showcase the results of a year’s hard work, dedication, and progress. The date and location for the Showcase will be announced in the fall of 2021.
Showcase Fees are required of all 3DCA students and are due no later than November 19, 2021. The fee for this season is $50.00 per dancer. The Showcase Fee helps to cover the venue rental, sound, lighting, and security expenses related to the production. Showcase Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE once paid.
