The YPAD certification holds our studio to a high standard when it comes to music and costume choices and requires that our staff be background checked, CPR certified, and certified through YPAD. 

 

Youth Protection Advocates In Dance® was originally founded in Los Angeles (2012) and was fueled by the passion and commitment of doctors, therapist, specialists, and educators for youth in athletic and artistic activities. Youth Protection Advocates In Dance® was born as a response and solution to various negative trends that commodify and exploit youth and adults in performing arts.

YPAD Certification is the foremost, research based, educational course for dance professionals and the dance industry as a whole. The intention of Youth Protection Advocates In Dance® is to provide dance professionals with the skills and resources to protect and develop healthy, happy dancers. YPAD Certification educates dance studios and communities worldwide on the core elements in constructing an environment focused on the well-being of kids and a sustainable, safe future for dance.

With the help of YPAD, our goal is to grow our students as humans, not just dancers. Dance creates wonderful opportunities to implement healthy boundaries and teach our students discernment and self-esteem that will transcend into life outside the studio. Our children deserve to dance with out being objectified or exploited.  3DCA believes strongly in building empowered communities to keep youth happy, healthy, and safe in dance.
